I was hooked from the get-go as our protagonist, Lyra, is rejected by her fated mate and sent to live with her sister's pack. The dynamics between the packs, and the politics that come with them, are fascinating and complex. The pacing is excellent, balancing character development with action and suspense. The narration is exceptional, with both James and Wyles bringing their characters to life with nuance and depth. My only critique is that the pacing slows slightly in the middle, but it's a minor quibble in an otherwise outstanding listen. This isn't your typical werewolf story; it's a dark, atmospheric tale that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
