Twisted Palace

As someone who's devoured my fair share of dark romances, I was blown away by the complexity of Twisted Palace's characters and world. The more I listened, the more I found myself questioning my own moral compass. It's a rare feat for an audiobook to leave me feeling both entertained and unsettled, but Erin Watt's writing has a way of sneaking up on you like that. One of the things that stood out to me was the way the narrator's handled the supporting cast. Some audiobooks can feel like a series of cardboard cutouts, but Goethals and Webber bring so much depth and nuance to the peripheral characters that it's hard not to get invested in their stories. That being said, I did find the pacing to be a bit uneven at times – the audiobook jumps abruptly from a few intense moments to a lull in the action, which can be jarring. Still, it's a minor quibble in an otherwise addictive listen.
