Ulysses S. Grant: A Victor, Not a Butcher

As an editor, I was struck by the way Bonekemper's passion for his subject shines through in every chapter of this audiobook. Worley's narration perfectly complements the author's engaging writing style, creating a seamless listening experience that's both informative and engaging. One of the standout aspects of this audiobook is the way Bonekemper wove together a rich tapestry of historical context, from the politics of the time to the personal lives of the key players. However, I did feel that some of the supporting characters felt a bit one-dimensional at times, which slightly detracted from the overall impact of the narrative. Still, this is a minor quibble in what is otherwise a first-rate historical biography.
