Loftus isn’t here to rehash the same old ‘God is mean’ arguments; he’s systematically dismantling the *philosophical infrastructure* that lets religious claims masquerade as serious thought. His chapter on ‘the outsider test for faith’ alone is worth the listen—a simple but devastating idea that forces believers to apply the same skepticism to their own religion that they’d use on, say, Scientology. Miller’s narration is a standout here: he nails the balance between academic precision and conversational snark, making even the denser logical syllogisms feel like they’re being explained by a particularly sharp debater at a pub. That said, this isn’t a flawless listen. Loftus’s relentless tone can feel exhausting by hour seven—there’s little breathing room for counterarguments, and at times, his dismissal of opposing views borders on straw-manning. The production is clean but unremarkable; a few more dynamic pauses or tonal shifts might’ve helped break up the relentless march of logic. Still, for anyone tired of polite, hand-wringing discussions about faith, *Unapologetic* is a bracing shot of intellectual adrenaline. It’s the audiobook equivalent of a philosophical molotov cocktail—and Miller’s delivery ensures it lands with maximum impact.
