Viola in Reel Life

As a huge fan of Adriana Trigiani's writing, I was thrilled to dive into Viola in Reel Life. Carlotta Brentan's narration brought the story to life, and I found myself charmed by Viola's eccentricities and struggles. Trigiani's writing is as witty and insightful as ever, and her exploration of themes such as identity, friendship, and first love feels both timeless and relatable. One of the things that stood out to me was the way Brentan handled the book's more introspective moments – she brought a sensitivity and nuance to the narrative that really helped to convey the complexity of Viola's emotions. That being said, I did find myself sometimes wishing for a bit more depth in the supporting characters – Viola's friends and classmates felt a bit one-dimensional at times. Additionally, some listeners may find the pacing to be a bit uneven, particularly in the middle section of the book. However, these minor quibbles aside, Viola in Reel Life is a delightful and engaging listen that is sure to resonate with fans of coming-of-age stories and Adriana Trigiani's unique brand of humor and heart.
