Editor's Review ★★★★

AudioBook Atlas

As I listened to Violet, I found myself drawn into a world of creeping dread and unsettling unease. Cassandra Campbell's narration is a key part of this experience, her voice conjuring the eerie atmosphere of the novel with ease. She brings a sense of vulnerability to Kris, the protagonist, which makes her struggles all the more compelling. One of the standout elements of Violet is its use of time as a narrative device. Thomas expertly jumps back and forth between Kris's childhood and adulthood, creating a sense of disorientation that mirrors Kris's own growing sense of unease. However, I did find the pacing to be slightly uneven at times, with some sections feeling a touch disjointed from the rest of the narrative. Still, overall, Violet is a chilling and thought-provoking listen that will linger with you long after the final credits roll.
