Editor's Review ★★★☆

AudioBook Atlas

I was captivated by Ed Stafford's 'Walking the Amazon', largely due to Tobias Hertz's measured narration, which perfectly conveys the author's blend of bravado and trepidation. The story is compelling, with Stafford facing numerous challenges, from treacherous terrain to hostile locals. The pacing is well-balanced, with Stafford's reflections on his journey providing welcome respite from the more intense moments. My only quibble is that some of the supporting characters feel a bit one-dimensional, and I would have appreciated more context about Stafford's preparation and planning. Overall, however, this is a gripping and well-produced audiobook that will appeal to fans of adventure and exploration.
