As a huge fan of science fiction and military fiction, I went into War Whore expecting a high-octane thrill ride, and boy, did I get it. From the opening pages, I was hooked on the world of the Berserkers, and Roger Wayne's narration only added to the excitement. Wayne's voice is like a well-oiled machine, effortlessly moving from the high-stakes action sequences to the quieter moments of introspection, and his deep, smooth tone is the perfect fit for Aslesen's gritty, hard-boiled world. That being said, I did find the supporting cast to be somewhat one-dimensional at times, and I would have loved to see more development and nuance from the secondary characters. Additionally, the ending felt a bit rushed, with some plot threads left dangling, but overall, these are minor quibbles in what is otherwise a fantastic audiobook. With its non-stop action, richly detailed setting, and memorable characters, War Whore is a must-listen for fans of science fiction and military thrillers.
