I have to admit, I was blown away by While Rome Burned. Joshua Saxon's narration is top-notch, effortlessly guiding listeners through the twists and turns of the story. His ability to convey the characters' emotions and bring the ancient setting to life is nothing short of remarkable. The pacing is well-balanced, never feeling too slow or too fast, and the production quality is excellent. One of the standout aspects of this audiobook is its thought-provoking exploration of the human cost of war. Davis raises important questions about the long-term effects of trauma and the difficulty of readjusting to civilian life. If I have any criticism, it's that the supporting characters feel a bit one-dimensional at times. However, this is a minor quibble in an otherwise exceptional audiobook.
