About This Audiobook

In 'Winter in Eden', Harry Harrison delivers a thrilling twist on the classic 'what if' scenario: what if dinosaurs didn't go extinct, but humans did? As a new ice age sweeps the globe, our feathered friends from the Mesozoic era rise from the ashes, employing their biological prowess to reclaim the planet. Christian Rummel's narration brings these prehistoric powerhouses to life, his deep, resonant voice perfectly capturing the raw, untamed essence of these ancient creatures. What sets this audiobook apart is Harrison's sharp, witty dialogue and his ability to humanize dinosaurs without losing their primal, terrifying core. It's like 'Jurassic Park' meets 'The Time Machine', with a dash of 'The Day of the Triffids' for good measure.

Editor's Review ★★★★☆

AudioBook Atlas

Christian Rummel's narration is a standout feature of 'Winter in Eden'. His ability to differentiate between characters, from the gruff, no-nonsense dinosaur leader to the timid, curious human survivor, is commendable. The pacing is excellent, building tension and suspense as the humans' desperate struggle for survival unfolds. However, I found some of the scientific explanations a tad heavy-handed, occasionally breaking the narrative's flow. Overall, though, this is a gripping, thought-provoking listen that will keep you on the edge of your seat, wondering who the real predators are in this frozen world.
