I devoured Wrong Side of Forty in record time, and it's all thanks to Hollis McCarthy's narration. She captures Marina's voice so perfectly that I felt like I was listening to a friend spill her guts over a glass of wine. The story moves at a brisk pace, balancing laugh-out-loud moments with poignant reflections on love, loss, and starting anew. DeLeon's writing is clever and engaging, but I did find some of the secondary characters a bit one-dimensional. Overall, though, this audiobook is a delightful listen that had me rooting for Marina every step of the way.
