I've listened to my fair share of time-travel audiobooks, but 1982 is in a league of its own. Peter J. Matthews absolutely nails Wendy's voice, capturing her raw emotion and sass with every note. The way he transitions between Wendy's '80s Oxford and her present-day life is seamless, keeping the story's dual timelines from becoming a muddy mess. The pacing is spot-on, too, building tension as Wendy races against time to save her band and herself. My only critique? I wanted more from the supporting characters; they felt a bit one-dimensional at times. But that's a minor gripe in an otherwise stellar listen.
