I was hooked from the opening scene, a murder on a downtown train that Mara can't escape, no matter how many times she blinks. Virtual Voice's narration is a tour de force, capturing Mara's confusion and fear as she navigates her impossible situation. The story is a masterclass in tension, with each loop of Mara's day revealing new layers of complexity. The pacing is flawless, building to a climax that had me on the edge of my seat. If I have one critique, it's that the ending feels a tad too neat, but it's a small quibble in an otherwise outstanding audiobook. This is a white-knuckle ride that demands your full attention, and it's one you won't soon forget.
