Aspirant, Coming of Age: An Epic Fantasy Series

I was drawn in from the very first chapter, thanks to Gilliland's compelling narration and James' intricate world-building. The story moves at a steady pace, balancing action, dialogue, and exposition seamlessly. Chance's character arc is particularly satisfying, as we watch him grow from a naive, privileged youth into a responsible, empathetic leader. The sci-fi twist, which I won't spoil, adds a fresh layer to the epic fantasy genre and had me on the edge of my seat. My only critique is that some secondary characters could have been more fully developed, but this is a minor quibble in an otherwise outstanding audiobook. If you're a fan of epic fantasy with a sci-fi twist, or simply looking for a well-told coming-of-age story, 'Aspirant' is an excellent choice.
