The way Dixon handles the alien/human dynamic isn’t just about physical differences—it’s about clashing values, power struggles, and the raw vulnerability of bonding with someone who sees the world through completely different eyes. The steamy scenes? They’re not just there for titillation; they’re pivotal moments that drive the plot forward, and Jackson’s breathy delivery sells every beat of tension. Mason Lloyd, meanwhile, embodies the barbarian’s growly, protective nature so well that you’ll find yourself forgiving his occasional over-the-top possessiveness. That said, the pacing stumbles a bit in the middle act.
