Beast

As someone who enjoys fantasy audiobooks, I was excited to dive into Beast by Jade Linwood, narrated by Liz Pearce. The story follows Jean-Marc Charming Arundel, a former con artist who finds himself in a dangerous situation with a demon. Liz Pearce's narration is dynamic and engaging, capturing the charm and wit of the protagonist while also delivering the tension and suspense of the plot. However, I found the pacing to be uneven at times, with long stretches of dialogue that lacked the necessary tension to keep me invested in the story. Additionally, while the world-building is intriguing, it could have been fleshed out more to provide a richer experience for listeners. Despite these critiques, Beast offers a unique blend of humor and high-stakes adventure that fans of the fantasy genre may enjoy.
