Bloodhound

As an avid fan of Tamora Pierce's work, I eagerly anticipated the audiobook adaptation of Bloodhound, and I'm pleased to report that Susan Denaker's performance did not disappoint. Denaker's portrayal of Beka Cooper, a fierce and resourceful young heroine, is both convincing and endearing, making it easy to root for her as she navigates the challenges of her first mission. Denaker's narration also excels in bringing the richly detailed world of Tortall to life, with each character's unique dialect and mannerisms effortlessly conveyed through her skilled vocal performances. However, at times, the pacing felt a bit sluggish, particularly during some of the more exposition-heavy sections. Nonetheless, this is a minor quibble in an otherwise excellent audiobook adaptation of an already beloved novel.
