Burned

As an audiobook listener, I was pleasantly surprised by Carol Higgins Clark's narration. Her voice is comforting and engaging, perfect for a cozy mystery. However, it took me a few chapters to adjust to her reading her own work, as it felt a tad self-conscious at times. The story itself is a delightful mix of suspense and wit, with Regan Reilly's quick thinking and Kit's comedic timing providing plenty of laughs amidst the tension. The pacing is spot on, keeping you on the edge of your beach towel, eager to find out who's behind the sinister plot. My only critique is that some of the secondary characters could have been more fully developed, but overall, 'Burned' is a highly enjoyable listen that's perfect for fans of light, tropical mysteries.
