About This Audiobook

In this captivating young adult time travel tale, David, the King of England, finds himself torn from his 14th-century throne and deposited into the chaos of modern-day America. Narrator Laurel Schroeder brings a youthful energy to David's voice, perfectly capturing his bewilderment and wit as he navigates a world that's both fascinating and treacherous. As David confronts the challenges of a scarlet fever epidemic, a rogue baron, and a new baby, Schroeder's narration style seamlessly weaves together action, humor, and heart, making this audiobook a compelling listen.

Editor's Review ★★★★☆

AudioBook Atlas

I devoured Castaways in Time in a single sitting, drawn in by David's plucky spirit and Laurel Schroeder's engaging narration. Schroeder's performance is superb, conveying David's fish-out-of-water experiences with humor and aplomb. The pacing is well-balanced, hurtling through action sequences and slowing for more introspective moments. If I have any quibbles, it's that some of the supporting characters feel a tad underdeveloped, and a few of the modern slang terms used by David feel slightly forced. Still, these minor issues don't detract from the overall enjoyment of the story. The production is top-notch, with clear and crisp audio that makes for a smooth listening experience. Overall, I highly recommend Castaways in Time to fans of time travel and historical fiction.
