Curves 'Em Right

I went into *Curves 'Em Right* expecting another sparkly, teeth-clenched vampire romance with overripe metaphors, but Milly Taiden’s take on wolf shifters is refreshingly earthy and unapologetically horny. The opening act where our heroine, a plus-size blogger with a razor-sharp Instagram presence, gets cornered by two overgrown canines in a parking lot doubles as a hilarious dominance power play and a legit meet-cute. The tension isn’t just in the *will they/won’t they* tease—it’s in the territorial growls and the heroine’s refusal to be anyone’s side dish. Lauren Sweet’s performance is the standout. She nails the contrast between the heroine’s city-slicker confidence and the wolves’ primal, rumbling devotion, shifting tone between teasing and outright possessive growls that made my skin prickle. The pacing is tight, but I wished the final act lingered a beat longer on the emotional payoff—Taiden wraps the story up fast, almost like a TV episode’s denouement, leaving some of the character arcs feeling slightly abbreviated. That said, the chemistry is so palpable you’ll be forgiving the whiplash ending. If you want a paranormal romance that’s equal parts dirty talk and howls at the moon, this audiobook delivers.
