As a fan of both history and science fiction, I found D-Day to be an absolute gem. The story is well-researched, immersing you in the chaos and camaraderie of D-Day without losing sight of the personal stakes for our time-traveling protagonist. Dove's narration is a significant part of this audiobook's appeal. He masterfully portrays the range of emotions and accents, making each character distinct and engaging. The pacing is tight, balancing moments of intense action with quieter, character-driven scenes. My only critique is that the transitions between time periods could be a bit smoother, but this is a minor quibble in an otherwise excellent listen.
