Dear Mother

As I delved into 'Dear Mother', I was immediately struck by Rea Frey's ability to create an oppressive, eerie atmosphere. The dense forests of the Pacific Northwest practically seeped from my headphones, thanks in part to Jennifer Jill Araya's narration. She expertly captures the protagonist's growing unease and desperation, making the story all the more compelling. The pacing is near-perfect, with short chapters that keep you hooked, and twists that come at just the right moments. However, I did find some of the secondary characters a bit one-dimensional, which was a slight letdown in an otherwise stellar thriller. Overall, 'Dear Mother' is a standout listen for fans of domestic suspense, with its unique setting and engaging narrative structure.
