About This Audiobook

Elizabeth Spann Craig's 'Death of a Suitor' is a delightful whodunit that serves up a heaping helping of Southern charm alongside its mystery. Set in the quaint town of Bradley, North Carolina, this amateur sleuth tale is as comforting as a glass of sweet tea on a hot day. The story is propelled by Myrtle Clover, a sharp-witted, retired schoolteacher who's always got her nose in someone else's business - but this time, it's to solve a murder. What sets this audiobook apart is its distinctive Southern voice, filled with warmth, wit, and just the right amount of sass.

AudioBook Atlas

Lisa Lynn Sandlin's narration is the cherry on top of this Southern sundae. Her voice is as smooth as honey, perfectly capturing the essence of Myrtle and the other colorful characters that inhabit Bradley. Sandlin's pacing is spot on, keeping the story moving at a brisk pace without ever feeling rushed. The production quality is excellent, with clear audio and no background noise to distract from the story. However, I did find some of the Southern dialect a bit overdone at times, which could be a turn-off for some listeners. Overall, though, 'Death of a Suitor' is a thoroughly enjoyable listen that's perfect for fans of cozy mysteries with a Southern twist.
