In 'Denver Homicide', John C. Dalglish serves up a gripping, no-nonsense police procedural that's as chilling as it is compelling. Narrator Rich McVicar's steady, unadorned delivery lets the story's stark reality hit home. Dalglish's plot is a tight, intricate web of deception and motive, with enough twists to keep you guessing until the very end. Editor's Review ★★★★☆

AudioBook Atlas

Rich McVicar's narration is the perfect match for this taut, gritty mystery. His steady, uninflected voice keeps the tension high, making each revelation feel like a punch to the gut. Dalglish's characters are well-drawn, particularly Kate Walker, the no-nonsense detective with a heart of gold. The pacing is excellent, with just the right balance of investigation and action. My only quibble is that some of the red herrings feel a bit too obvious, but that's a minor complaint in an otherwise outstanding listen. The production is clean and unobtrusive, letting the story take center stage.
