Cole’s writing is razor-sharp, with dialogue that snaps and a plot that never takes a breather. The audiobook’s strength lies in Virtual Voice’s narration: their voice never overacts, but the subtle shifts in tone—from Greene’s clipped, jaded professionalism to moments of raw panic—make the performance feel like a live wire. My only gripe? The middle act sags slightly under the weight of exposition, and the final act’s resolution, while satisfying, ties up a few threads a tad too neatly. Still, the ride is worth it.
