I went into *Dungeon Diving 103* expecting another lighthearted fantasy romp, but Sentar and his narrators crushed that expectation. Boucher and Threet’s performances are the audiobook’s secret weapon—Boucher’s Ken is a powder keg of frustration and grief, his voice cracking under pressure in ways that feel entirely human. Threet, meanwhile, nails the cadence of a villain who’s always three steps ahead, her tone dripping with condescension when she’s taunting Ken or sharp as a blade when delivering exposition. The pacing is relentless, but it never feels rushed; Sentar balances Ken’s emotional turmoil with the physical dangers of his training, making the magic feel like a last resort rather than a convenience. If I had one critique, it’s that some side characters blur together, especially in the early chapters where the world-building is heavy. A few more distinct vocal tics from Threet or Boucher could have helped anchor them. And while the production is top-tier—crisp sound design and no distracting background noise—there’s a moment late in the book where a pivotal battle’s sound effects feel slightly overlaid, muddying the impact. But these are minor quirks in an otherwise stellar listen. Sentar’s world feels alive, and the audiobook’s energy makes it impossible to pause. If you crave fantasy that punches you in the gut and leaves you begging for more, this is your next obsession.
