Falling for Gods

Samantha Cook and Aiden Snow are the reason *Falling for Gods* works as well as it does in audio. Cook’s portrayal of the heroine—equal parts sardonic and soulful—makes her the perfect guide through this chaotic afterlife, her dry wit cutting through the divine drama with ease. Snow, meanwhile, has the rare gift of balancing Loki’s mischief with Thor’s gruff charm without ever making either feel like a caricature; his Thor, in particular, is a standout. The production is slick, with just enough ambient magic (echoing halls, distant battle cries) to immerse you without drowning out the excellent dialogue. That said, the middle act drags slightly as the plot juggles too many divine egos, and the resolution wraps up with a *deus ex machina* that feels a tad too convenient. Still, if you’re here for the slow-burn romance and the gods’ combustible chemistry, the journey is worth the detour. The final act’s fireworks—both literal and metaphorical—make it clear why this book has a 4.6-star average.
