As someone who has avidly followed the career of Paul Levine, I was eager to dive into False Dawn, and I was not disappointed. Luke Daniels' performance only adds to the immersive experience, as he masterfully conveys the voice and personality of Jake Lassiter. From the opening pages, I was hooked on the novel's intricate plot and the rich, atmospheric setting of Cold War Cuba. Levine's attention to historical detail, coupled with his keen understanding of human nature, makes for a compelling read. However, I did find the pacing to be a bit uneven at times, with some sections feeling more rushed than others. Regardless, False Dawn is a must-listen for fans of mystery and suspense, and I look forward to seeing what Levine has in store for us next.
