Flock

I devoured Flock in one sitting, and I'm still reeling from the experience. Julia Whelan's narration is phenomenal, bringing a sense of gravity and tension to the story that's hard to put down. Her voice is warm and engaging, but also perfectly suited to the darker moments of the plot. When Katla's world starts to unravel, Whelan's delivery conveys the fear and uncertainty that comes with it. One of the things that really sets Flock apart is its use of setting. The small town of Red Oak is vividly brought to life, with a sense of history and atmosphere that's woven seamlessly into the narrative. I loved the way Delsol explores the complexities of small-town life, where everyone knows each other's secrets and nobody wants to rock the boat. It's a fascinating commentary on the human condition, and one that adds depth and nuance to the story. My only criticism is that the pacing can be a bit uneven at times. There are moments where the plot slows down, and it's hard to stay motivated. However, these moments are few and far between, and the audiobook is mostly a thrilling ride from start to finish. Overall, I'd highly recommend Flock to fans of supernatural mysteries and suspenseful thrillers. Julia Whelan's narration and Wendy Delsol's writing make it a compelling listen that will keep you hooked until the very end.
