I was immediately drawn into the lives of these two intrepid souls, their courage to leave behind the familiar resonating deeply. Bakken's narration is a standout, her voice as comforting as a warm fire in the vast Alaskan expanse. She expertly captures the vastness of the landscape and the intimacy of the couple's new life. The pacing is steady, allowing the story to unfold naturally, with just the right amount of tension and reflection. My only critique is that I wished for a bit more description of the Alaskan wildlife, but that's a minor quibble in an otherwise engaging listen.
