As a golf enthusiast, I was immediately drawn to Freddie & Me, but what I found was so much more than a book about the sport. It's a poignant tale of friendship, respect, and the power of leading by example. Scott Pollak's narration is spot on, capturing the cadence of Bowden's storytelling and the warmth of Freddie Bennett's Southern drawl. The pacing is steady, allowing the listener to fully absorb the wealth of wisdom shared. However, I found myself wishing for a bit more depth into the actual caddying experience at Augusta. That said, the vivid descriptions of the course and its rituals more than make up for it. This audiobook is a must-listen for anyone who's ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes at the Masters, or who's simply looking for a compelling story about life's great teachers.
