Frostbitten

I started listening to Frostbitten expecting a predictable erotic romp, but Cole’s sharp prose and the narrators’ raw performances turned it into something far more addictive. Ramona Radcliff’s portrayal of Liv—initially hesitant, then feral with need—is the standout. She makes every hesitation sound like a physical struggle, which only makes the eventual surrender more satisfying. Curt Bonnem’s Hunter is all rough edges, his voice dripping with the kind of confidence that makes you believe he could keep you warm against all odds. That said, the pacing stumbles slightly in the middle act. The emotional beats drag during the cabin’s forced isolation, making Hunter’s intensity feel less like chemistry and more like a monologue before the storm finally breaks. The production quality is solid, though the audio clarity dips when the duo’s breaths sync up in the heat of the moment—almost as if the narrators forgot to keep their distance. But these are minor quibbles. By the final third, I was gripping my phone, leaning in like I could lend Liv the body heat she needs. It’s rare for an erotic audiobook to make me care about the characters’ survival over their pleasure, but Frostbitten pulls it off.
