I was hooked from the first minute, Peppe Servillo's narration drawing me into the chilling atmosphere of Naples. His voice, a perfect blend of gravel and melody, captures the essence of the city and its inhabitants. The story is a slow burn, but the pacing is deliberate, allowing the tension to build like the cold wind whipping through the streets. De Giovanni's writing is evocative, painting a vivid picture of the city and its people. The only critique I have is that some of the plot twists are a bit too convenient, but they're forgivable in the face of such a compelling narrative. Overall, Gelo is a standout listen for fans of noir and police procedurals.
