Jayne Entwistle brings an authentic warmth to Hexes, Exes and Codexes that perfectly complements the cozy atmosphere. Her narration is clear and expressive, making it easy to envision Jacqueline’s world filled with quirky characters and local color. The story’s pacing is just right; it moves briskly enough to maintain suspense but slows down occasionally to savor the detailed descriptions of the bookstore. However, some of the subplots feel a bit underdeveloped, which might leave listeners craving more depth in certain areas. Despite this minor critique, the overall experience is engaging and satisfying.
