The story itself is a wild ride—part screwball comedy, part slow-burn suspense. Vale’s dialogue is razor-sharp, and the small-town setting (complete with nosy neighbors and a suspiciously well-timed tornado) adds to the charm. My only critique? The suspense plotline, while engaging, occasionally feels like it’s vying for attention against the romance. A few transitions between flirty banter and life-or-death stakes could’ve been smoother.
