About This Audiobook

Home Before Night is a masterful exploration of isolation, paranoia, and the lengths humans will go to survive. Pomare's gripping narrative unfolds in real-time, with each passing minute feeling like an eternity as the characters navigate a world on the brink of collapse. Narrators Aimee Horne and Ed Oxenbould deliver exceptional performances, perfectly capturing the desperation and fear that permeates the story. Horne's portrayal of the main character's unraveling mental state is particularly haunting, while Oxenbould's portrayal of the antagonist adds an unsettling layer to the narrative. This audiobook stands out with its intense, claustrophobic atmosphere and thought-provoking themes that linger long after the final word is spoken.

Editor's Review ★★★★☆

AudioBook Atlas

As someone who devours psychological thrillers, I was immediately drawn to Home Before Night. From the first few minutes, I was hooked on the gripping narrative and unrelenting tension that Pomare masterfully weaves throughout the story. The real-time setting added a sense of urgency that had me on the edge of my seat, desperately wanting the characters to make it home before nightfall. Aimee Horne's portrayal of the main character's deteriorating mental state was incredibly effective, and Ed Oxenbould's performance as the antagonist added an unsettling depth to the story. I did find the pacing to be a bit slow at times, and some of the character development could have been more thorough. However, these minor issues did not detract from my overall enjoyment of the audiobook. I would highly recommend Home Before Night to fans of psychological thrillers who enjoy being kept on their toes and pondering the depths of human nature.
