Il profumo

Having recently finished listening to Il profumo, I must admit that I was initially hesitant about diving into this story, given its dark and intricate nature. However, as the narration unfolded, I found myself completely captivated by the tale of Jean-Baptiste Grenouille and his singular quest for the perfect scent. Tommaso Ragno's performance was outstanding, his Italian accent perfectly capturing the essence of the story and its setting. The pacing was superb, keeping me engaged throughout the 10 hours and 34 minutes of listening time. While the story can be quite intense at times, I appreciate the author's ability to weave together a complex narrative that keeps listeners guessing until the very end. My only critique would be that some of the more graphic scenes could have been toned down slightly to allow for a more accessible listening experience. Overall, Il profumo is a truly unique and unforgettable audiobook that I would highly recommend to fans of the mystery, thriller, and historical genres.
