AudioBook Atlas

As someone who's always found Conrad's writing a tad dense, I was pleasantly surprised by how engaging this audiobook was. The full cast does an outstanding job, with each narrator bringing their own flavor to Conrad's complex characters. Kris Marshall's steely, measured delivery as the Secret Agent is particularly noteworthy, while Stephen Tompkinson's narration of 'Heart of Darkness' captures the story's eerie, unsettling atmosphere. The pacing is spot-on, never feeling rushed despite the dense material. However, I must admit, the constant switching between narrators and stories can be a bit jarring at times.
