A detour into political intrigue with a bureaucrat named Veyra drags, her dialogue feeling more like an info-dump than a natural obstacle. And while the Lovecraftian hints are chilling, the payoff for one major mystery feels rushed—like Crudge got spooked by his own implications. Still, the final act’s climax, a slugfest in a derelict shipyard, is worth the wait. The Virtual Voice’s lack of emotional range actually *works* here, turning the chaos into something clinical and terrifying.
