Keller in Dallas

I was drawn back into Keller's grimy world like a moth to a flame. Virtual Voice nails the character, making Keller's reluctant return to work feel like a grim inevitability. The pacing is relentless, each scene unfolding like a perfectly choreographed fight scene. The production is minimalist, letting the story and narration take center stage. My only gripe? I wanted more. At just over an hour, it's over almost before it begins. But that's the double-edged sword of a Lawrence Block novella - it's a quick, satisfying hit, but leaves you craving another fix.
