As someone who's never been a fan of audiobooks, I was pleasantly surprised by 'Kidnapped'. The St. Charles Players' narration style is nothing short of captivating. They breathe life into each character, from the cunning and resourceful David Balfour to the villainous Ebenezer Balfour. The production is top-notch, with sound effects and music that enhance the storytelling without being intrusive. The pacing is excellent, capturing the suspense and excitement of David's journey without feeling rushed. My only critique is that some of the Scottish dialect might be challenging for listeners not familiar with it. However, it's a small price to pay for an otherwise outstanding audio experience. This isn't just an audiobook; it's a thrilling, old-fashioned adventure that's perfect for both young listeners and adults alike.
