Madeline Pell’s narration is the glue that holds this audiobook together, and she delivers in spades. Her portrayal of the unnamed narrator—gripped by love, paranoia, and grief—is magnetic, especially when she shifts from breathless romanticism to icy suspicion. The real standout, though, is Pell’s ability to make Parker’s charm feel both irresistible and sinister. Early scenes where he’s all smiles and thoughtful gestures are delivered with a warmth that makes the eventual revelations land like a punch to the gut. That contrast is what makes this audiobook so effective. For all its strengths, though, *Love You to Death* stumbles in a few places. The mid-section sags under the weight of its own ambiguity; the clues are laid out so subtly that it’s easy to feel lost rather than intrigued. And while the ending is bold, it’s also divisive—some listeners will appreciate its ruthless efficiency, while others may crave more resolution.
