As a fan of Nordic noir, I was immediately drawn into 'Madrugada's' icy embrace. Bøllehuus's narration is a standout, his ability to convey the story's subtle shifts in tension and emotion making for a truly immersive listening experience. The plot is intricate, with enough red herrings to keep you guessing until the very end. However, the pacing can feel a tad slow at times, and some secondary characters could have used more development. But these are minor quibbles in an otherwise excellent audiobook that will leave you shivering in the best possible way.
