Bloom’s performance is a revelation; she nails the heroine’s fiery confidence, but where she truly shines is in the quieter moments, where her voice softens into something achingly tender. Together, they turn what could’ve been a familiar plot into an immersive experience, the pacing tight enough to keep you glued to your headphones but never rushed. That said, the story does stumble in a few places: Enzo’s shift from villain to lover happens so abruptly that it feels like a missed beat in his character arc, and the secondary characters (aside from the leads) blur together, leaving the supporting cast underdeveloped. Still, these flaws are minor in a book that delivers on atmosphere, tension, and that elusive *will-they-won’t-they* spark.
