Maia and the Legend of Tansi

As someone who often finds space operas a bit too focused on the 'epic' at the expense of character development, I was delighted by Maia and the Legend of Tansi. Basu masterfully weaves a complex web of political alliances, technological advancements, and ancient prophecies, but the heart of the story is Maia's journey. Virtual Voice's narration is a perfect complement, bringing a warmth and vulnerability to Maia that had me invested from the start. The pacing is steady, allowing the story and characters to unfold naturally, with production values that enhance the listening experience without drawing attention away from the story. My only critiques are minor: the sheer number of characters can be overwhelming at times, and the ending feels a tad rushed, but these are small prices to pay for such a compelling listen.
