I was hooked from the get-go. Virtual Voice's narration is spot-on, capturing Leah's initial clumsiness and frustration, and Kael's quiet intensity. The pacing is excellent, keeping the tension high as Leah and Kael navigate their precarious situation. Mills' world-building is impressive, with the Mars colony and its AI ruler providing a fresh backdrop for the romance. However, some of the dialogue can feel a bit stilted, and the resolution of the AI's threat feels a tad rushed.
