Then the time jumps hit, and suddenly you’re scrambling to keep up as alliances fracture, doppelgängers multiply, and the very idea of ‘profit’ becomes a cosmic joke. Gottschick’s performance is the glue. His delivery of the protagonist’s dry wit—imagine a man reading a euthanasia clause with a smirk—sells the absurdity, while his deeper register for alien species adds a layer of menace to even the most bureaucratic threats. My only critique? The middle act sags slightly under its own cleverness; Mahr’s love for temporal mechanics occasionally overshadows character beats, and a subplot involving a rogue AI feels undercooked. And while the audio production is flawless, the lack of distinct voices for some minor characters can make dialogue-heavy scenes confusing. But these are quibbles.
