Model Actress Whatever

Having recently finished listening to Model Actress Whatever, I found myself swept away by Kim Newman's sharp, satirical take on the world of superheroes, soap operas, and alternative realities. The dual narration by Olivia Darnley and Finlay Robertson was exceptional, with Darnley's commanding voice perfectly capturing the confident, empowered tone of the protagonist, Chrissie Chambers. Robertson's sharp delivery added the perfect edge to the story, making it feel more authentic and engaging. The pacing was well-crafted, keeping me on the edge of my seat throughout the 17-hour listening experience. However, I did find the occasional lull in action to be a bit of a drag, and I wished there had been more moments of genuine character development to balance out the satire. Overall, though, Model Actress Whatever is a fantastic listen for fans of superhero stories, action-packed adventures, and witty satire.
