Murder on Board

I devoured 'Murder on Board' in one sitting - Karen Cass's lively narration had me hooked from the start. Dixon's writing is superb, expertly ratcheting up the tension as Kitty Underhay navigates a complex web of alliances and rivalries on the paddle steamer. The pacing is well-judged, with a satisfying payoff that doesn't feel too rushed or convenient. My only minor quibble is that some of the supporting characters feel a tad underdeveloped, and at 7 hours, there were a couple of sections where the pace flagged slightly. Still, this is a minor complaint in what is otherwise a delightful, engaging listen. The production quality is top-notch, with clear, crisp audio that makes the most of Cass's engaging performance.
