Listening to Stephen Fry narrate Wodehouse is like watching a virtuoso pianist play a favorite composer—effortless, reverent, and deeply satisfying. His voice glides through the labyrinthine plots of the Blandings stories with such ease that you forget you’re listening to audiobook and not eavesdropping on a private performance. Fry gives each character a distinct, often hilarious, vocal fingerprint: Lord Emsworth’s dithering confusion, the Efficient Baxter’s clipped indignation, and the perpetually flummoxed Galahad all leap from the page with Fry’s signature warmth and wit. The production quality is crisp, with well-managed pacing across 45 hours—no small feat. That said, occasional stretches dip into formulaic repetition. A few plots blur together after a while, especially if consumed in long sittings.
